ABOUT THE GAME
Combine. Split. Promote.

Use regular chess moves to combine two pieces on the same square, creating a powerful hybrid. Move the combined piece using either piece’s abilities, or split them apart into their individual pieces for strategic positioning when the time is right. 

But beware, if the combined piece is captured, you'll lose both!

• Explore exponentially more strategies by combine pieces into powerful hybrids or split them later for strategic positioning. Need more queens? Create your own with a "Biook" (Bishop + Rook) or rocket a pawn across the board with the "Rawn" (Rook + Pawn) for a quick promotion. 

• Easier gameplay. Instead of shuffling pawns out, combine a pawn with a bishop or a rook and for an immediate attack. Instead of trying to checkmate your opponent, fast track a pawn to the other side using a rook or bishop for an extra queen and attack the king.

• All new strategy. Tired of people knowing this or that series opening moves. That is all gone. It is about adapting to the new environment. Learning when to combine, when to split and when to use traditional moves. 
• Faster games. Less  moves than a regular game of chess and with more possible moves on the board the game is not only faster than chess it feels faster as well.
• Chessplus is easy to learn and fun for all ages. Play it with a friend or family member who knows chess and both can enjoy the feel of chess with all new moves and strategies.

HISTORY

It all started with a 7-year-old determined to win a game of Chess against her dad. Aimee (Chessplus creator) was playing Chess against her father, Christian (Chessplus founder), but she was struggling. She knew that getting her Queen back was her best chance of turning the game around.

Then she made an unexpected move — she put her Rook and her Pawn, two pieces, on the same square. Curious about his daughter’s creative thinking, Christian played along. On her next turn, Aimee moved both pieces across the board and proudly declared she had promoted her pawn and regained her Queen.

What started as a playful moment soon became a household obsession with family and friends. Over the years, this passion project evolved into a family business, selling over 50,000 physical units worldwide—and now, Chessplus is making its way into the world of video games.

Christian Simpson, Founder of Chessplus
Christian is founder and creator of the award winning Australian board game, Chessplus. After a successful Kickstarter campaign, the family business has sold over 50,000 physical board game units worldwide and won the Good Design Australia award.
