In chess pieces move individually. In Chessplus PIECES CAN COMBINE. The new combined piece takes the QUALITIES OF BOTH PIECES. The result is game which is easier to play, has many more potential moves and is faster than chess.
One big change is the pawn, instead of being a slow piece it can combine with a stronger piece and then fast track to the other side promoting to a Queen. Players can BUILD THEIR FORCES by promoting pawns to Queens with extra Queens included.
Yes! Chessplus is 2 games in 1. This Award Winning Design can also be played as Chess. Available with or without board, if you want to play on the run or just use your favorite board. You can even play both at once...like a handicap game. One plays traditional Chess while the opponent plays Chessplus. Great for children vs adult or crosstraining for tournament play.
During a game of Chess with her dad the young Aimee (aged 8) did something not so legal. With a cheeky smile Aimee moved her rook onto the square of a pawn. Her dad looked on puzzled and made a traditional Chess move.

Chessplus is a two player game.
The basics of chess, how pieces can move and capture.
Pieces combine using traditional chess moves. In chess pieces cannot share a square, in Chessplus they can, this is when the pieces combine. You can start combining from the very first move. E.g. you can move a Bishop on it's diagonal onto a Pawn's square. The combined piece is the Bishop + Pawn.
A combined piece can move as either of it's combined pieces. E.g. a combined Bishop + Pawn can move as either a Bishop or a Pawn.
Yes. Just move one of the combined pieces away as that piece would move. E.g. Splitting a combined Bishop + Pawn simply move the Pawn away using the movement of the Pawn. The Bishop stays on the square.
Yes. A move is a move as a piece would be transitioning to another square.
Yes. A combined piece is treated as a single piece. More risk, more reward.
Yes. Just like chess when a pawn gets to the other end it promotes. In Chessplus when a combined piece containing a pawn reaches the other side of the board it automatically promotes to a Queen. The combined piece leaves the board. E.g. If a combine Bishop + Pawn reaches the other side of the board the Bishop + Pawn leaves the board and is replaced by a Queen. Extra Queens are included in the set. Players can use promoting Pawns as a strategy in the game making it more accessible than chess.
Yes. You can even castle with a combined piece as long as the Rook and King have not moved.

The king is height 66mm x base 25mm, the pawn height 42mm x base 25mm. The board is 350mm x 350mm. You can use our pieces on a traditional board and purchase just the pieces.
